More About Nathan

Early Life

Nathan grew up in a small town in Oklahoma.  He graduated OU in business, but his true love was Classical Culture, studying extensively under Harvard doctorate J Rufus Fears.

Nathan has been passionate about technology and it’s effect on the world since he was 10 years old.

“I distinctly remember seeing these old AT&T commercials in the 90’s while watching the Olympics with my parents.  The technology was so futuristic, and I was so certain AT&T would make a huge play in these arenas – but they didn’t do any of it!  They clearly saw the future, and did nothing, eventually getting bought.  A lesson to all of us who don’t want to end up like Blockbuster.”

Career

Nathan started in Telecommunications as the only person in the training class with no experience in the industry. Further, his boss was new to the role and he was her first hire. “I didn’t care what I had to do, I was going to find a way to be successful and make sure they didn’t regret hiring me.” He ended up being both rookie of the year and #1 nationally among hundreds of experienced professionals, quickly advancing his career toward his first IPO. “I don’t know what it is, but once in a while you’re just in this special place, where your entire focus is in one area. This was where I was when I got that job. I didn’t start that job with an ambition to win those awards, I was just determined not to fail, and I just happened to end up being good at it, and it drove me to raise my expectations of both myself and my peers.”

Today, Nathan One is a startup & turnaround expert with a science-based, formulaic approach to launching startups and executing turnarounds for stalled or declining companies looking for a life cycle extension. He was first inspired to create Constant Clients when he realized how many clients had gone though “coaching programs” only to realize one of two things – #1, their “Coach” was really good at selling coaching programs and nothing else, or #2, their coaching program was based on motivation and after the program they were no farther along then they were when they started the program. Nathan didn’t think this was right – so he put together his scientific approach that had been successful for so many startups & turnarounds before, and that program is now known as Constant Clients – it focuses on identifying and overcoming “7 Chasms” that stand in each business’s way as they scale to different levels.
